The main library for public reading is responsible for the task of providing the book on various pillars to promote and encourage public reading, and in this capacity it is particularly tasked with:

• Placing at the disposal of users various documentary credits, services associated with public reading and all other ancillary services.
• Allocate a space for public reading adapted to the needs of the child.
• Providing a space for studies and exam preparation.
• Facilitate the development of basic competencies for the use of automated media.
• Providing means that allow disabled persons to access public reading.
• Organizing cultural activities around the book
• Make all available sources of information available to all those who wish to view them.
• To provide the possibilities and services of free research in order to help the individual to expand his knowledge and gains according to his needs, interests, desires and abilities .
• Help in achieving the goals of school education, because the library works to deepen the student's horizon and understanding of his subjects .
• Encourage and strengthen readability among citizens by providing services and books that satisfy different needs and tastes .
• To provide readers with the necessary information to update their work in their jobs in society and in the management of their practical affairs .
